Cambodia’s Defense Minister Engages in Strategic Discussions with Chinese and Singaporean Counterparts

PHNOM PENH, June 4, 2024 – Cambodia's Defense Ministry has conducted pivotal bilateral discussions with defense leaders from China and Singapore during the 21st Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, Tea Seiha, engaged in separate meetings with China’s National Defense Minister Dong Jun and Singapore’s Minister of Defense Ng Eng Hen on June 2 and June 1, respectively.

During his meeting with Minister Dong Jun, Deputy Prime Minister Seiha commended the Chinese minister's speech, which highlighted China's ongoing role and influence in global affairs. He emphasized Cambodia's commitment to bolstering and broadening defense cooperation with China.

Conversations with Singapore's Minister Ng Eng Hen centered on naval collaboration, which Deputy Prime Minister Seiha praised for its role in fostering mutual learning and sharing of experiences between the two nations.

Minister Ng Eng Hen expressed appreciation for the strong bilateral relationship and commended the Cambodian minister for his active participation in the Shangri-La Dialogue, underscoring the importance of such international forums in enhancing regional security cooperation.
